Rotimi is a legal, corporate affairs and business specialist with over 14 years’ experience driving business growth and customer engagement through effective and targeted communication.
In his early days as a lawyer with a leading commercial law practice in Lagos, he led the firm’s bid drafting and compilation, partner biographies and interviews by correspondence, and entries in various multi-jurisdictional journals and publications.
More recently, he led legal and corporate communication for Spinlet, the first music streaming and digital distribution platform in Sub-Saharan Africa, and was responsible for the implementation of the company’s communication strategy.
Rotimi has worked independently as a copywriter with digital marketing agencies on key image management and product launch campaigns. He is also a columnist for The Guardian, widely regarded as Nigeria’s flagship newspaper, and publishes a popular blog which examines legal, commercial and governance issues. He possesses a unique understanding of the nuances between politics and political communication and worked as Director of Communications for a Presidential Candidate in the 2015 Nigerian elections.
Rotimi holds a Master’s in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Southampton and an LLB from the University of Ibadan. He is licensed to practice law in Nigeria.
