Human Systems Governance Framework

Every organisation is a human system. Learn how to govern it.

Most organisations manage people, governance, and culture as three separate concerns. The Human Systems Governance Framework (HSGF) argues they cannot be separated. They constantly shape one another, and how well they work together determines whether an organisation performs, retains talent, and earns trust.

Built on years of research into African workplace realities – including African Women on Board’s multi-year study into organisational systems, leadership accountability, and structural risk – the HSGF is a research-informed methodology for understanding the formal systems and informal dynamics that shape how people experience work, and for strengthening the systems that determine whether opportunity and success are distributed fairly.

Delivered through a guided digital learning journey across three levels (Self Awareness, Relationship Awareness, and Organisational Awareness), the HSGF helps organisations reduce invisible risk (disengagement, bias, stalled careers, talent loss, etc) and helps leaders and employees build workplace cultures grounded in dignity, respect, trust, and accountability.
