Annie Mutamba is a public relations and strategic communications expert with over 15 years’ experience in communication and advocacy in the public and private sector in Washington, DC (Africa Policy Information Center – now Africa Action, the oldest organisation in the US dedicated to African affairs) and Brussels (European Chemical Industry Council – the largest EU industry lobby group).She has extensive experience in developing and implementing innovative communication campaigns on high stake, high profile and complex issues on the EU agenda impacting public and private organisations from Africa.

She is co-founder of Africa Communications Week,  a global movement that advocates for Africa focused communication professionals to connect, engage and impact Africa’s economic transformation through strategic communication. She is chair of the lobbying commission at the African Center of Competitive Intelligence (ACCI) and a lecturer in EU communication and public affairs at IHECS in Brussels.

Annie holds two master’s degrees, in Communication and in International Relations, from the University of Liege in Belgium and the University of Bradford in the UK.
